Hello everyone,

I hope late spring has been good to y’all as we head into the summer months! Not much new news to report in the park, but here are a couple of quick updates:

• We installed a new buoy-marker system in the inlet to clearly mark the path out to the canal.
• On a personal note, I opened my second Airbnb in the park, and it has been as successful as the first one.

As I committed to in a previous correspondence, if any resident or resident family member wants to rent out either of these two short-term rentals, please reach out — I’ll happily offer a better rate than the published rate.

A couple of important reminders (both topics we’ve covered before):

1. Parking trucks and trailers inside the fenced boat landing Only residents of Snowy Owl Mobile Home Park are allowed to park their trucks and trailers inside the fenced boat landing area. If you have visitors, have them drop their boat and then pull their truck/trailer back to your lot.

When parking inside the gated area, please park in the most logical way possible to maximize space for everyone. Park perpendicular to the fence line on Oakland Drive and leave as much room as you can for others to park alongside you. If the front is full, use good judgment for placement. Keep your head on a swivel when maneuvering — safety first!

2. Yard Work As a whole, most residents do a wonderful job keeping up with grass cutting, trimming, leaf removal, etc. Thank you — it makes the whole park look great and benefits everyone. I know it can be time-consuming with busy lives, but yard upkeep is not optional.

I’m on property 2–3 times per month and will check in on this. You’ll hear from me individually if needed.

Reminder: Mr. Bootie Todd is available for lawn maintenance. You can arrange service and payment directly with him, or use the Snowy Owl website to submit a request (a separate invoice will be sent at month-end with your rent, like a convenience fee — no markup for the park; everything passes through to Bootie).

Hello Everyone!

Spring has sprung in Cross and everything is coming to life. The days are warmer and longer, the trees are blossoming, and the fish are biting…. it’s a glorious time of the year!! 

I have a few items to review this month:

1. Burning debris in the park – Please contact the Forestry Commission and make them aware if you intend to burn on a particular day. Not doing so can result in a fine, and burning during a red flag warning could result in a bigger fine. The fastest, easiest way to notify the Forestry Commission of your residential yard debris burn is through their website. Simply provide your county, address, name and contact information, and you’re all set! Make your online notification here scfc.gov/notify. Citizens can also make notification with the Forestry Commission for their residential yard debris burns by calling the toll-free number for Berkeley County, 800-895-7063.
2. Parking trucks and trailers inside the fenced in boat landing – With the beautiful weather upon us, more residents heading out onto the lakes. When parking your truck and trailer at the boat landing, it is imperative that you park in the most logical fashion possible to maximize the space for everyone. Please park your truck perpendicular to the fence line on Oakland Drive and leave as much space as possible for your fellow residents to park alongside you. If the front area is full, use as much logic as possible when deciding where to park. And please have your head on a swivel when maneuvering inside this area, please make safety a priority!  
3. Lawn service – Most residents do a wonderful job keeping up with their yard work (grass cutting, trimming, leaf removal, etc.), and I am very grateful for that because it benefits all residents when the park looks well cared for (thank you)! However, the process can be time consuming so for those interested, Mr. Bootie Todd is available to take care of your maintenance needs. Please feel free to work out service and payment with Bootie directly or use the Snowy Owl website to put in your request. If you use the website, a separate invoice will be sent to you at the end of the month (like your rent invoice) for lawn services. It is not a money-making service for Snowy Owl, everything collected passes through back to Bootie, it is offered solely as a convenience for residents. Feel free to contact me should you need further info. 
4. The last empty lot – No real update here, other to say it continues to garner interest but has yet to rent. It is a very nice front-of-the-park lot and eventually we will find the right situation (people and home). As previously mentioned, should any resident know of anybody interested in renting the lot, I’d happily offer a free month rent for the referral. 

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well! There has been a lot of activity in the park since our last update so I’m happy to get y’all up to speed.

New Residents

• 1077-1 Oakland Drive – Tony Kline sold his home in February to Joseph Barfield. Joe is a Charleston resident but plans to utilize his new home on the lake on the weekends and whenever else time allows.
• 1081-1 Oakland Drive (the new white single-wide) – One of our two new residents, Laddie Jones.
• 1083-1 Oakland Drive (the new grey single-wide)- Our other new resident, Sean Wyndham. Sean was already a resident of Cross, so he is very familiar with the park.

I’ve met and interacted with all 3 of these gentlemen, and I believe they will be wonderful additions to our small community! Please take the time to say hello if you run into them in passing.

Empty lot:

There is only 1 lot available in the park, 1069 Oakland Drive. I’ve been marketing the property for a couple of months, and it has garnered quite a few inquiries but no takers (yet). Part of the reason is that I have limited the lot to a single-wide home because of its size and location, but I have no doubts that I will find the right resident/situation. If any current resident knows of and recommends a qualified applicant who leases the lot, I will waive their lot fee for 1 month.

Fish Haven II

Rick Hinds sold me his home in January, and I have been renovating it since. I expect that the renovations will be completed shortly, at which point I will list the home on Airbnb.
